This was originally a 1980’s lockwood bach with a timber interior, so it was dark and had lots of small rooms - as was the fashion back when it was built. There was a small partially covered deck area but not a lot of outdoor entertaining space for the multi generational family to use on weekends and over holiday periods. Together with the clients we re-worked the living end of the home entirely, taking out walls, adding a dining room, lifting the ceiling (and adding in some gorgeous beams and detailing), adding a walk in pantry and making the windows larger to allow more light to come in. This has totally transformed this weekender into an entertainers dream. The kitchen is now the central hub of the home with easy access to the outdoor area, the larger dining area is light filled and spacious and the living room opens onto the gorgeous fully covered in deck complete with fire and in built barbecue, roof and louvres to shelter against any weather. While we were there we completely up graded the entire house adding in a generously proportioned ensuite to the master and fully renovating the garage into a teen haven for the grandchildren. It is now of a new home standard and has been fully re decorated so pretty much a new home. A great example of how investing into your home by upgrading to a more current building standard can make such an amazing impact on the lives of the owners.
